David Braun has been named the director of transit operations at Cincinnati Metro, where he will be responsible for managing the delivery of the agency’s fixed-route services to the Greater Cincinnati region.

He oversees all operators, service delivery and quality, supervision, dispatching, support operations and Government Square, Cincinnati Metro’s busiest transfer point.

Braun will develop and recommend programs, operating practices, employee development and training to improve the overall customer experience as well as the efficiency and the responsiveness of Cincinnati Metro’s fixed-route services.

“David brings to Metro a wealth of knowledge and experience gleaned from more than 30 years of service at various transit agencies,” said Cincinnati Metro CEO and General Manager Darryl Haley. “He has served in numerous capacities—from operations to management and business development—and demonstrated a record of success in developing creative solutions, improving productivity, strategic planning and building partnerships. We look forward to the contributions David will make in leading Metro’s operations to the next level of success.”

Braun most recently served as vice president of business development for Transdev North America. Before joining Transdev in 2013, Braun served as vice president of paratransit services for American Logistics, a national passenger transportation management company. Prior to that, he spent 22 years at First Transit, growing from senior management roles at multiple locations—including general manager of the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky—to director of business development in its downtown Cincinnati office.

Braun holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public and Environmental Affairs from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration from Bradley University.
