Susan Sweat has joined Transdev U.S. as its chief operating officer.

Sweat will report to Laura Hendricks, CEO of Transdev U.S., and will join the Executive Committee of Transdev U.S.

In her new role, Sweat will have overall operational and financial responsibility for Transdev’s contract locations across the U.S. She will oversee transit operations, managing five regional vice presidents, as well as managing the expertise and support areas of fleet and maintenance, performance, safety and security, project management, rail and non-emergency medical transport.

Sweat joins Transdev U.S. following a career spanning more than 30 years at FedEx Express. In her position as operations regional vice president at FedEx Express headquarters in Memphis, Tenn., she was responsible for $5 billion in revenue, more than 14,000 employees and a fleet of more than 8,000 vehicles serving thousands of clients across the country each day.

In her most recent role as vice president of operations planning and engineering, she was responsible for planning, budgeting, implementation of standards and enhancement of efficiency for all U.S. operations at some 678 locations. This included routing, scheduling and optimizing central hub locations to meet service commitments for on-time performance.

“Susan has an outstanding reputation as an experienced executive with strong leadership skills and an impressive track record of proven results, as evidenced by her continued career progression at FedEx,” said Hendricks. “I am excited for her to join our team and bring her passion for improving customer experience and increasing employee engagement to Transdev.”
