The five-year contract covers operations and maintenance oversight of the system, which includes a total of 38 vehicles.

The Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority (Wave Transit) Board of Directors voted to approve a five-year transit service management contract to Transdev North America in June. Transdev began efforts this summer overseeing Wave Transit’s fixed route system, which includes 21 fixed route buses, two trolleys and 15 shuttles. It’s a partnership Transdev says it is excited to be a part of.

“We’re proud to add this contract to our portfolio. North Carolina is such a vibrant and booming state. Adding to our footprint in the area helps us contribute to the area’s growth by providing safe and efficient transportation to our customers,” said Justin Augustine, Northeast regional vice president, Transdev U.S. “We look forward to becoming an integral member of the local community.”

As part of its management contract, Transdev is responsible for operations and maintenance oversight.

“We have a great team in place and are confident in the value they bring to our client and to our passengers,” added Augustine. “Both General Manager Harrison Neilly and Operations/Safety Manager Randolph Williams have decades worth of transit experience. Pairing them with expert, local talent, including the existing, maintenance leadership, who have in depth knowledge of the service, is a recipe for success.”

“This area has a long history and strong commitment of providing effective transit solutions that contribute to the strength of the community – we are eager to uphold that tradition,” concluded Augustine.
