The Lodi, California city council voted recently to retain MV Transportation Inc. as the manager of the city of GrapeLine transit system.

MV has operated the city's fixed-route and dial-a-ride service since July 2003. The new four-year, $7.6 million contract (with two additional, one-year options) will begin on August 3.

Four transit companies submitted bids for this contract, and according to Lodi city staff, MV's proposal was "by far the most professional and experienced firm that bid on the work."

"We have enjoyed a great partnership with the city of Lodi, and we look forward to continuing it," said Kevin Klika, president of MV's West Coast operations. "I am especially proud of the outstanding work our team has done in Lodi to ensure we offer the best services possible every day."
