When asked why KAT selected Trapeze as its trusted technology partner, Belinda Woodiel-Brill, director of marketing and development, explained, "Trapeze is the industry standard and with the opportunity to add complementary solutions, like their operations management package, we anticipate we can eventually create a holistic system that can help make our entire operations flow much easier."
The Trapeze solution for KAT includes a Web-enabled, browser-based demand response scheduling and dispatch system designed to support the LIFT—the agency’s paratransit services. In addition, an advanced scheduling and runcutting solution for KAT’s fixed-route services can help to automate time-consuming tasks and creates efficiencies in the major stages of the scheduling process.
The comprehensive system is further enhanced with an integrated Trapeze customer relationship management solution for capturing, monitoring and tracking inquiries and complaints from customers and employees.
According to Woodiel-Brill, the organization is looking forward to using the Trapeze technologies to manage “approximately 120 buses ranging from paratransit vans, propane-powered neighborhood service vehicles, rubber-tire trolleys, and 30'-, 35'- and 40'-buses.
“KAT carries nearly 4 million passengers per year on over 27 fixed routes, and as soon as implementation is complete we anticipate increased efficiencies in our runcutting—including cost savings and time savings for our scheduler,” she concluded.
