Use New RTA Bike Shelters to Join the Commuter Challenge: Ride your Bike and the Train

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) encourages you to green your commute, starting today. If you are a bike rider on the west side, we’re making it easier for you to bike and ride, with two new covered bike shelters.

Each shelter holds six bikes – one is at the Triskett Rapid Station and the other is at the West 117th Street Rapid station on the Red Line.

They were installed in these two Westside locations** to provide a covered place for RTA passengers to store their bikes while traveling downtown or to any location served by RTA, where they wouldn’t need to carry their bike.

If you like to ride your bike, and want to try out public transportation, a great time is now. As part of the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency’s (NOACA) Commuter Challenge, participants can win prizes if they register and ‘green their commute’.

Log on to the challenge for more information, including the list of incentives available: http://www.noaca.org/cc2010.html.

Be green and save some green, by trying out RTA today.
