MV Transportation Inc. is pleased to announce Jon Monson, the company’s chief executive officer, has been elected chairman of the board.

In his new role, Monson, who has served as MV’s chief executive since 1999, will provide the overall strategic direction of the company and provide executive counsel to MV’s new leadership team.

"During my 10 years at MV, the company has gone through a dynamic transformation, emerging as one of the industry's leading transit providers," Monson said. "What we've achieved over the years is a testament to our overall commitment to the transit industry, to our clients, to the MV staff, which I consider the very best in the industry, and to the people who depend on us every day to get them to the very important places they need to go.”

Monson added, “In my new role, I get to remain involved in all aspects of MV business without the day-to-day expectations that come with being CEO. I am absolutely excited about what the future holds for MV.”

Kevin Klika, president of MV’s West Operating Group, has been promoted to the position of president and chief operating officer by the MV board and will work in partnership with Lodde in managing the daily operations.
