On September 20 – 23, 2016, Init will be exhibiting at InnoTrans 2016, the international trade fair for transport technology in Berlin. During the three days of the exhibition, visitors from all over the world can take advantage of the opportunity to talk to experts and view the latest developments on-site at the INIT stand 311 in hall 2.1.
ID-/Account-Based Ticketing
Init will be showcasing their latest state-of-the-art solutions at InnoTrans, in particular their revolutionary ID-based ticketing solution that helps public transport companies to offer passengers more convenience while streamlining their sales.
Other than traditional card-based ticketing systems, ID-based systems hold the customer data and business logic in the backend system. This approach makes the ticketing system much more flexible. Moreover, the open architecture approach of Init's MobileOBILEvario allows the easy integration of various sales channels and multi-modal offers. In addition, open payment can be added allowing passengers to not only use e-ticketing media provided by the transport companies but also media they already possess, like EMV-based contactless credit or bank cards or NFC smartphones. Visit us at our stand and learn more about the technology and the groundbreaking projects in which they are used.
Init Expands its Mobile Applications
With the on-going trend towards digitalization in transport companies, there is an increasing demand for mobile-accessible information in all areas: support for dispatchers and supervisors, drivers and passengers. Init significantly expanded the man power in this department over the past few years and has consistently developed existing and new solutions.
With the app for mobile dispatching, MOBILEmodi, Init provides a tool for staff in the field to manage operations using an Android device. The app enables traffic supervisors to have the same access to relevant ITCS information as dispatchers in the control center. Hence, it provides them with relevant support for dealing with major events, accidents or delays.
The COPILOTapp offers efficient control of on-demand transportation, helping to align those services often handled by taxis or minibuses that are not equipped with a regular on-board computer. The Android-based application provides drivers with all necessary information such as the route or the current schedule situation. In addition, the app logs the passengers getting on and off or records no-show incidents. This, in combination with GPS tracking, is a solid basis for revenue management between the transport company and third party contractors (e.g. the taxi company). The COPILOTapp also manages voice and data communication with the control center.
The app for real-time passenger information, DEPARTURESlive, is now available for Android and iOS. The particular highlight is an Augmented Reality feature: passengers are able to see which stops are closest to them, as well as the distance to each of the next stops through their smartphone’s camera. Also included is a pedestrian navigation feature that takes passengers directly to the stop with just one additional touch.
An innovation presented at InnoTrans for the first time, is the use of ITCS on-board computer functionalities on a Windows tablet. As all INIT on-board computers are pc-based and working on a windows operating system, this adaption is easily implementable. All software, including the user interface, is identical to the on-board computer solution. The only restriction, inherent in the system concept, is that peripherals in the vehicle can’t be connected to the tablet. Nevertheless, this solution, called COPILOTgo, is a great progress for all vehicles that are typically not equipped with on-board computers, e.g. in the case of spontaneous replacement services.
