Teleste Corporation has announced that at Innotrans 2016 it will highlight solutions and technologies designed for the needs of the modern railway industry. Branded as Teleste Rail, its offering covers solutions for versatile on-board and station applications including extremely high-capacity wireless data transmission between trains and the ground.

Teleste Rail - a modular approach to the needs of the rail industry

More than ever, the rail industry is faced with a variety of operational challenges, ranging from adapting to new technologies to meeting the growth in passenger demand for easier and safer travelling. Rail operators are expected to operate efficiently, maintain safety and service quality, and meet demanding passenger needs for timely and accurate information and attractive entertainment.

To help rail operators tackle these challenges, Teleste has introduced Teleste Rail, a modular approach to the industry’s needs. It includes a wide range of solutions for on-board, stations and wireless data transmission and offers high adaptability to operator-specific operational demands and future requirements.

The modular structure makes Teleste Rail a competitive option for different purposes, whether a new design or a refurbishment project. Our high ‘rail-proven’ quality is guaranteed by IRIS certification.

Wireless data transfer solutions to increase network performance and capacity

Teleste's wireless solutions are designed for rapid and reliable real-time connectivity and efficient data transmission between trains and stations as well as between moving trains. At Innotrans 2016, Teleste will demonstrate its patent-pending wireless offload technology which features 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity, superior error tolerance and excellent performance capacity for transmitting, e.g., full HD video.

Teleste will also demonstrate how its recent innovation, wireless offline offload, works in action. Designed for offloading data in conditions where no wireless infrastructure is available outside the vehicles, this solution allows offloading data from vehicles to the ground system with devices used by the train staff or passengers.

Introducing state-of-the-art technologies for passenger displays

As improving information for passengers has high priority when delivering a satisfactory travel experience, we will bring on stage some of the most recent advances in passenger display technology that will show the way for tomorrow’s information and advertising applications. These new displays include a transparent OLED display solution for on-board and stations, RGB LED displays for on-board and stations and a white LED display for on-board use.

Mitron On-board and Railway Solutions

Teleste's on-board solutions, including displays, individual products and comprehensive passenger information systems, will be presented under the Mitron brand for on-board public address, intercommunication, CCTV and entertainment. At Teleste's stand, they will present the Mitron IP54 slim line on-board TFT displays family, on-board Wi-Fi with Intranet services for train crew and passengers, and remote management applications for managing and controlling on-board system information.

As part of Mitron Railway Solutions, Teleste will showcase our outstanding TFT 47-inch information pillar designed for 24/7/365 outdoor use. It features an integrated HDTV security camera with superb video performance and wide dynamic range and guarantees excellent visibility at all viewing angles and lighting conditions. Due to its TFT LCD technology and weather and vandal proof design, the pillar also offers reliable operation and low life-cycle costs.

Video security solutions

A critical part of security issues within the rail industry are about securing people on trains and platforms and at stations. In addition, protecting operations, as well as infrastructure and information systems, is becoming increasingly important. Teleste Rail creates a future-proof security hub that allows rail operators to monitor and manage situations in real time. The core of the hub is our IP-based video management system, S-VMX, which we will demonstrate in action at our stand.
