Leitner Ropeways displayed its aerial ropeway system gondola lift at this year’s InnoTrans. Leitner’s solutions are designed to be used in situations where urban mobility faces traffic gridlocks, lack of space to create railways or designated bus rapid transit (BRT) lines. The gondola lifts operate on the ropeway, meaning that they have an exclusive route that doesn't conflict with any other traffic. Leitner describes their solution as an environmentally friendly way to allocate traffic from the ground into the air.
The ropeways require relatively less time to set up and are lower costs. The gondolas are environmentally friendly through putting off low emission levels and a lightened impact to the cityscape. Also benificial to areas that lack space or require little interference with the city - the gondolas are only on ground when coming to the points where the towers stand.

- Clearing obstacles such as buildings, rivers and other environmental factors
- Travel times remain on a set schedule and passengers can be move continuously
- The gondolas are quick to build and install
- Ropeways can handle steeper gradients than other vehicles
- Easy boarding for passengers who need accessibility; the gondolas can be stopped momentarily to allow for extra boarding and the cabins move through the station points at floor level
