Nomad Digital WiFi Solution is Key to Driving Innovation and Technology - See it Live on the ÖBB TALENT3 Train at InnoTrans
Nomad Digital has announced the first results of their recent order with ÖBB for Nomad’s high-performance on-train connectivity platform and passenger WiFi solution for 21 new Bombardier TALENT3 trains. At InnoTrans this year ÖBB presented their new Cityjet TALENT3 train. Nomad Digital will be showcasing its ÖBB WiFi platform live on this train, as well as onboard the Cityjet DesiroML eco hybrid train built by Siemens, in the outdoor area at InnoTrans.
The first 21 TALENT3 trains will be operated in the Vorarlberg region of Austria and into border Swiss stations. They will have Nomad’s passenger WiFi which enables ÖBB to deliver its rich on-board Portal including unbreakable Live TV and video on demand from the TV Thek library of ORF, the Austrian national broadcaster. It can easily be customised to add local regional content for these TALENT3 trains. ÖBB has recently ordered a further 25 TALENT3 trains from Bombardier to be operated in the Tirol region and into South Tirol in Italy.
The TALENT3 order from ÖBB joins recent orders by ÖBB as part of their Nomad framework contract: the Cityjet Talent1 fleet is having Nomad’s WiFi platform installed during its overhaul schedule, and the Cityjet DesiroML fleet of 165 trains will by early 2019 all have the Nomad WiFi platform installed.
Jakob Pfeffer, ÖBB Digital Mobility WiFi Programme Manager says: “We are delighted to be working with Nomad Digital. InnoTrans is a great platform to present the TALENT3 train that fits in with a modern lifestyle. Being able to showcase the Nomad Digital WiFi solution is key to driving innovation and technology.”
During InnoTrans, Nomad Digital and ÖBB will also be joining forces to show you how to analyse performance data with Fleetview, the real-time operational reporting software platform. Visit Hall 4.1, Stand 217 for the daily demonstrations.
