The Doppelmayr Garaventa Group exhibited its Koblenz gondola system at this years InnoTrans. The Koblenz system was designed to be a temporary transportation solution in Germany for the Federal Horticultural Show (BUGA) in 2011. The system began operating a year before the show and drew a great number of visitors for its views of the grounds, the Rhine river and the Ehrenbreitstein fortress.

The gondola uses three cables; two that are designated for support and one that works as a haul rope. Doppelmayr Garaventa's solutions are ideal for urban areas that have lots of traffic - they're able to transport passengers without facing traffic in a stable gondola. The gondolas are developed with passengers of the ropeway operators in mind - Doppelmayr Garaventa describes its gondolas as efficient. They have installed systems in airports, city centers, amusement parks, inter-modal connections, railway/light rail/metro feeder systems, campuses, resorts and other areas with such requirements.

The gondolas can be used in distances of around 5.5 miles (9 kilometers) and uses cable propulsion technology in the creation of Automated People Movers, or APMs. As a trusted supplier of custom APM systems, Doppelmayr Garaventa offers comprehensive services, from design, creation, and installation to maintenance and operation.
