AlohaCare names IntelliRide as new NEMT management and oversight partner
AlohaCare of Hawaii has partnered with IntelliRide, a Transdev company, to manage and oversee the non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) benefit for Medicaid and Medicare members, including the reservation and scheduling of passenger trips throughout the entire state of Hawaii.
“We look forward to the positive impact we can make on the lives of AlohaCare’s 72,000 plus Medicaid and dual eligible Medicare members across the great state of Hawaii,” said Jamie Chambers, vice president of operations for IntelliRide. Chambers estimates that IntelliRide staff will facilitate approximately 100,000 medical purpose trips per year.
Incorporating technology to help medical facilities and passengers manage their various transportation needs is critical.
“We are pleased to offer our membership Transdev’s innovative technology with a member mobile app, a web portal for online booking and a facility portal to help providers track their patients’ rides,” said Francoise Culley-Trotman, AlohaCare CEO.
Adequate transportation options are especially important in an island state where specialized providers or treatment options may be located on another island or even on the Mainland (Continental United States).
“Intelliride’s services will enable our members to access the care they need, despite the barriers they may face,” said Culley-Trotman.
“We appreciate the confidence AlohaCare has shown in our Transdev / InteliiRide NEMT broker operations and look forward to providing safe, consistent and reliable service to our passengers who rely on us to get them where they need to go safely,” concluded Chambers.
The collaborative transition of service started with call center services on Feb. 15, 2021 and transportation services launched on March 1, 2021.
