Two agencies look to connect with community through bus-themed games
Utah Transit Authority (UTA) in Salt Lake City, Utah, and GoRaleigh in Durham, N.C., are turning to familiar games as a way to connect with their communities and raise awareness of the benefits of transit throughout July.
UTA
Every Monday in July, UTA will operate a bus scavenger hunt with clues posted on the authority’s Instagram page.
The game is being operated in conjunction with Utah’s annual Clear the Air Challenge, which aims to eliminate 100,000 single-occupant trips during July, and Salk Lake City’s Frequent Service Network.
Participants will receive a key word at each clue location once they find and scan the QR code. The first five people each week to direct message UTA all three key words and a picture with the final blue bus will receive a UTA merch gift card.
All participants who send the authority the correct key words throughout the month will be submitted into the scavenger hunt’s grand prize drawing valued at $250, including two VIP tickets to the Salt Lake or Ogden Twilight concert of the winner’s choice.
GoRaleigh
Monopoly lovers will appreciate the transit service’s twist on the classic board game centered on GoRaleigh’s bus operations. The Busopoly Marketing Campaign encourages residents of Raleigh, N.C., and the surrounding area to use GoRaleigh no matter where they “Go.”
The campaign will feature four different “Go” seasons, where riders can earn points by riding the bus through an app based Busopoly game. Riders can earn prizes throughout the different seasons: Go Play (Summer), Go Learn (Fall), Go Shop (Winter) and Go Work (Spring).
