Passengers are being urged to seek alternative transportation as a strike by Dutchess County bus system workers could start as early as Wednesday.
Service disruptions are possible and the public service bus transit could be affected if there is a strike, according to a statement issued by the county Thursday.
County Mass Transit bus drivers and other members of Teamsters Local 445 voted 54-4 to strike as early as Wednesday if a contract cannot be negotiated, said union representative Jerry Ebert. He said the union plans to let the community know of its decision at least 12 hours before a strike would begin.
