IL: MCI Names Darril King Vice President New Coach Sales Northeast
Darril King has been named vice president new coach sales for the northeast region, responsible for all of New York State and the New England area.
King was formerly vice president Setra sales specialist and before that vice president regional sales. King joined MCI when the company gained Setra North American distribution rights in 2012. Prior to Setra, King had a 37-year career at Detroit Diesel. In his new position, King will continue to report to Patricia Ziska, MCI vice president of sales.
“Darril is a well known industry professional with a strong background in sales and customer care,” said Ziska. “Operators in the Northeast will benefit from his experience and knowledge and can count on him for exceptional service related to their MCI J4500, MCI D-Series and Setra coach needs.”
King began his Detroit Diesel career after high school, working assembly on the midnight shift. Following a tour in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968, King rejoined Detroit Diesel and later was tapped to go out on the road as customer service representative. He was appointed to the New England area in 1992, and retired from Detroit Diesel in 2001. He joined Setra a year later. King said, “I am passionate about bus and motor coach sales. As a techie guy, I grew up around buses and trucks and know how these things work.”
