Steve Pearson, AIA, Joins RNL as National Director of Military Programs

RNL announced the addition of Steve Pearson, AIA, as principal and national director of military programs.

RNL announced the addition of Steve Pearson, AIA, as principal and national director of military programs.   

“With Steve’s background, RNL’s Military clients are in excellent hands.  His experience, including working for the Department of the Navy, prepared him to anticipate the unique needs of military facilities,” Joshua Gould, AIA, chairman and CEO of RNL, said. “Steve’s time in the private sector also focused on serving military clients, by leading teams of architects and engineers on over 400 projects, here in the states and in locations around the globe.  RNL is thrilled to welcome Steve as our national director of military programs.”   

Steve Pearson, AIA, joined RNL from Hankins and Anderson (H&A) where he served as director of military programs.  Prior to his time at H&A, he worked for RRMM Architects as their director of military programs.  During those combined 18 years, he worked primarily for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Naval Facilities Engineering Command serving military clients in the Northeast, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S., as well as Fort Hood in Texas, NAVFAC Southwest in California, Joint Base Fort Lewis in Washington State, the United States Air Force Academy and Fort Carson in Colorado, and various overseas locations in the Caribbean, Middle East, Africa, and Guam.    

Pearson spent the first 13 years of his career with the Department of the Navy including the Navy Public Works Center and Naval Air Station, Norfolk, Virginia.  In 1995, he received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award for his service to the Norfolk Naval Air Station.  A graduate of Virginia Tech, Pearson is licensed in Virginia, North Carolina, and Colorado.  He is a member at multiple posts of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and was awarded the distinguished honor of Architect of the Year in 2011.   He splits his time between RNL’s Colorado and Washington, D.C., offices.

Pearson added, “I am looking forward to using my knowledge and experience to expand upon RNL’s significant Federal/Military portfolio.  I hope to continue to grow RNL as a global leader in sustainable design for the military.
