On Dec. 3, Montgomery County’s Ride On bus system received the 2014 Transit System of the Year Award for large bus systems from the Transportation Association of Maryland (TAM). The award was presented at TAM’s annual conference.
“Ride On moved more than 24 million passengers just last year and has played a critical role in Montgomery County’s transition to a more transit-oriented, walkable community,” said Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett. “Alternative transportation is a driver of economic growth and as we look to the County’s future, an even greater reliance on Ride On to enhance our residents’ mobility will be essential. I’m proud that Ride On has been recognized by the Transportation Association of Maryland for their service and quality.”
