Metro Council Approves Mayor Dean’s Nominee for Transit Agency Board
Janet Miller, CEO and market leader for Colliers Int.l, has been appointed to the Nashville MTA board of directors. She was confirmed in a unanimous vote by the Metro Council on Dec. 16.
Miller spent the past 20 years with the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce in various leadership positions and soon became the chamber’s chief economic development officer. In September, Miller left to assume her current position operating the Nashville office of Colliers Intl.
“We are delighted that Janet is joining our board,” MTA CEO Steve Bland said. “With her vast experience in economic development and commercial real estate, Janet understands the important role transit plays and will continue to play in our community as more and more people move into the region.”
Miller graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. She also attended the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma and received her Certified Economic Developer accreditation in 1999. An extremely active member of the Nashville community, Miller is a highly sought-after lecturer.
Her first Nashville MTA board meeting will be in January.
