Get Your Super Bowl XLIX Game Plan Ready with Valley Metro’s Special Service
Super Bowl XLIX festivities kick off around the Valley beginning Jan. 24. Make Valley Metro part of your game plan with special Super Bowl service. Valley Metro will provide a direct connection to all the Super Bowl action with enhanced bus and rail service on game days and for Verizon Super Bowl Central.

Special Rail Service to Verizon Super Bowl Central
Valley Metro Rail will offer extended hours and capacity operating until 2 a.m. on Jan. 28-31 and 11 p.m. on Feb. 1 to support additional demand and late-night festivities. Service will operate at regular frequency, which is between 12-20 minutes. In downtown Phoenix, passengers will board and de-board from certain stations:
De-boarding only stations
- 3rd Street/Washington (westbound)
- 1st Avenue/Jefferson (eastbound)
Boarding only stations
- Central Avenue/Washington (westbound)
- 3rd Street/Jefferson (eastbound)
Special Bus Service to Verizon Super Bowl Central
Special Express and RAPID bus service will be provided from eight regional park-and-rides to downtown Phoenix, providing greater parking options. Service will operate every 30 minutes until approximately 2 a.m. on Jan. 28-31 and 5 p.m. on Feb. 1.
Downtown Phoenix-bound local bus service will be extended until approximately 2 a.m. on January 28-31 and 5 p.m. on February 1. Service will operate every 15-20 minutes.
Special Bus Service on Game Days
Three Glendale bus routes will be extended until approximately midnight to provide a connection to the University of Phoenix stadium on Pro Bowl (Jan. 25) and Super Bowl (Feb. 1) game days.
Downtown Phoenix Detours
Certain downtown Phoenix-bound buses will be detoured around Verizon Super Bowl Central Jan. 26-Feb. 3. The bus routes remain accessible, with temporary bus stops just a few short blocks away. Valley Metro recommends planning ahead and allowing extra time to get to your destination.
