Chescobus, Chester County’s public transportation system, continues to rebrand the service by installing bus stop signs at every stop location on its two routes, Coatesville Link and Sccoot.
The first signs were installed along the Coatesville Link route, which travels in Western Chester County from Coatesville to Parkesburg. Like their newly wrapped buses, the Chescobussigns are a bright green color, making them an easy spot for riders who are searching where to wait for the bus.
The Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC), the organization who manages the bus service, has been rebranding their two buses since the beginning of the year in increments. In January, TMACC announced that it would be conjoining their two separate bus services Coatesville Link and Sccoot to form Chescobus. Both Coatesville Link and Sccoot are now routes on the services and not separate. In addition to the new name, they also wrapped their buses in a bright green color to increase visibility.
TMACC Manager of Transportation Operations and Planning John Meisel said the newest step in the rebranding is a major improvement to the service: “The old signs that were on the routes were barely visible anymore. Most were faded or not at stops at all. The new signs being installed enhances the service identification. Riders know exactly where the bus will pick them up.”
Weather pending, signs for the Coatesville LINK route will be finished by next week, and signs for the Sccoot route begin next week. All signs will be installed by the end of the month. Next step in the rebranding process are new bus tickets.
