RTD Riders Receive Special Asparagus Festival Discount and Stop
San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) and promoters of the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival are providing RTD riders with special benefits for the festival, including extended service frequency, a special boarding area inside the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds, and discounted entry.
RTD is providing a special stop for the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival on April 17, 18, and 19. The southbound Metro Express Route 44 will stop at Airport Way and Second Street, just west of the gate. The northbound Route 44 will pick up festival guests inside the fairgrounds. In expectation of higher demand during the event, RTD will run extended high-frequency service on Route 40 and 44 throughout the weekend. While RTD has offered services at the Asparagus Festival in the past, this will be the first time RTD will offer service directly into the festival grounds.
Festival guests who use an RTD bus to travel to the event will receive $3 off adult admission to the festival. To receive the discount, riders should present the RTD pass they used to travel to the event upon purchase of admission at the gate.
