SouthWest Transit announced the kick-off of the local service, SouthWest Prime, to the city of Eden Prairie on July 6. Free rides will be offered from July 6 – July 10.
The Prime is a modern day dial-a-ride in which you may request a ride through our website, phone app, or call. Simply indicate the location from which you want to be picked up and where you want to go within the Eden Prairie city limits and a ride will take you there.
“We are very excited to roll out this new local service to Eden Prairie,” said SouthWest CEO Len Simich, “in celebration, we are offering free rides the first week the Prime is operational.”
The Prime will operate Monday – Thursday 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and on Fridays 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.. Cost is $3.00 per ride, $2.00 for children between 6 and 12 (accompanied by a paying adult), and transfers to and from the SouthWest big buses is $1.00.
The Prime will expand to Chanhassen and Chaska areas by the end of August.
