CDM Smith welcomed Randall C. (Randy) Redmond as a client service leader in support of its Texas transportation clients. Based in Dallas, Redmond will apply his background in rural, urban and metro initiatives to evaluate alternatives and implement lasting solutions for our clients within the ever-expanding Texas marketplace.
Redmond brings 26 years of experience in the delivery of transportation facility projects, including planning, design, construction, operations, maintenance and financial management—spanning the full spectrum of small design-bid-build to multi-billion dollar public-private partnership projects. Most recently, he served as director of the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) Strategic Projects Office, where he oversaw procurement, construction and operations and maintenance on a portfolio of seven large managed lane and toll projects, totaling approximately $10 billion. Some of his most notable projects include the DFW Connector, the LBJ Express and the North Tarrant Express.
Prior to his position with the DFW Strategic Projects Office, Redmond served as the TxDOT Beaumont District Engineer, responsible for the oversight of all state transportation facilities within the eight-county area. After graduating from Texas A&M, he joined the TxDOT Tyler District, where he performed several roles before ultimately serving as the director of transportation planning and development. This diverse tenure with TxDOT has granted Redmond the opportunity to work with a wide variety of client partners and customers at all levels, in addition to honing his ability to explain complicated issues to broad audiences.
