Lynx to Celebrate Christmas in July

July 22, 2015

The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority's (Lynx) downtown Orlando terminal will host a "Christmas in July" event 11 a.m.-2 p.m. July 28.

Building on the success of the agency's annual winter holiday program Lynx has partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida as a fun way to give back to the community in the summer months.

Event attendees are asked to bring three non-perishable food items in exchange for an all-day bus pass, one pass per person. For every three items donated, customers also will receive a chance to win one of five 30-Day bus passes.  For those unable to attend the event but, wishing to participate, donations also will be accepted July 27 through noon July 31 at the Lynx Central Station (LCS) customer service window.

The area between the LCS bus bays and SunRail tracks will be turned into a tropical paradise. This remodel even caught Santa's attention as he volunteered to spend some of his summer vacation to take souvenir photos with all of the "nice" people in Central Florida.

The terminal will be full of activities including live music from multi-instrumentalist Pat Frost; food trucks from ChiPhi, Eat My Treat, La Empanada and Curbside Chef; and several special surprises.
