The Greater Dayton RTA recently received the 2014 Auditor of State Award for exemplary financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Chief Financial Officer Mary Stanforth accepted the award from Joe Braden of the state auditor’s office at a recent RTA board meeting.
This award placed RTA in a very select group. The auditor’s office audits more than 5,600 organizations per year, and fewer than 10 percent of them earn this prestigious award.
RTA has earned this award from the State of Ohio Auditor’s Office in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014. Organizations that receive the award must meet the following criteria:
- 1. They must file a timely financial report in accordance with GAAP.
- 2. The report must not contain any negative findings
- 3. The report must not contain any negative comments regarding ethics, questioned costs, or reconciliation.
