As another school year begins throughout the Greater San Antonio Region, Via Metropolitan Transit reminds students that the Semester Pass can be an inexpensive option for their transportation needs.
For just $35, any student in Via’s service area from elementary school through college can ride the bus for an entire semester. The Semester Pass for the fall is good for the months of August through January, and the spring Semester Pass is good January through May.
The fall Semester Pass is on sale now and can be purchased at any Via Information Center. To obtain a Semester Pass, a student must show proof of current registration and a school photo ID. If a student does not have a photo ID, Via can issue one for a two-dollar fee at the Via Metro Center, the Downtown Information Center, the Kel-Lac Transit Center, the South Texas Medical Center Transit Center, the North Star Transit Center, and the Crossroads Park-and-Ride. A list of locations can be found on the Via website.
Students attending any of the Alamo Colleges can buy Semester Passes directly from their bursar offices. San Antonio College students can inquire at their bursar office regarding the transportation fee charged by the college and how they can get their Semester Passes. Students at the University of Texas at San Antonio main campus can buy their passes at the University Center Information Desk across from the bookstore, and students at the University of the Incarnate Word can buy passes at the Student Activity Center Information Desk.
