On Sept. 8, Durham Region Transit (DRT) will introduce new service enhancements across Durham Region to increase frequency, improve GO Train meet services and implement new routings. In total, 34 routes will be adjusted.
As the backbone of the DRT network, PULSE is going to be more frequent than ever, providing rapid, high-frequency trips along Highway 2 between downtown Oshawa and Scarborough. Weekday afternoons will see service increase from every 15 minutes to every 10 minutes. Some of DRT’s busiest routes – 401, 416, 910, 915 and 950 – will also see increased frequency.
Enhancements to GO Train meet services are coming to Ajax, Oshawa, Pickering and Whitby Stations. These adjustments will benefit customers who rely on DRT to catch connecting GO Trains in Durham Region.
New routes will offer faster travel times for customers travelling to various industrial employment areas, as well as a new link between Brooklin, and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Durham College North Campus.
DRT uses feedback from customers, operators, field observations, data analysis, as well as partner transit agencies to continuously enhance services.
