Via Metropolitan Transit and the city of San Antonio (COSA) Department for Culture & Creative Development (DCCD) announced the installment of Resymbol Sept. 30,, a public art project that will be displayed along Via’s The E route. Via invites the public to “See RESYMBOL on The E” from Sept. 30 through Nov. 1.
Resymbol is on display along Via’s The E route, which is free from 6 p.m. to midnight, Tuesday through Saturday. Resymbol is the latest art installment in “X Marks the Art,” a city initiative to activate underutilized downtown properties by introducing new, creative, and dynamic installations and artistic happenings in downtown San Antonio.
Resymbol explores the creative use and placement of artist-designed symbols within the city’s downtown environment, where The E route circulates. Featured local artists include: Ricky Armendariz, Waddy Armstrong, Elizabeth Carrington, Paula Cox, Michael Menchaca, Ethel Shipton, Robert Tatum and Louis Vega Treviño. DCCD’s Public Art San Antonio division oversees the “X Marks the Art” program.
