Metro Transit announced the promotion of Crystal Martin to its transit deputy general manager position.
Martin will have the primary responsibility of supervising and directing the daily and long-term operations of Metro’s operations, maintenance, parts, and building and grounds units.
“Crystal brings many years of experience in transportation both at Metro and other transit organizations in Madison,” said Chuck Kamp, general manager of Metro Transit. “She has been active on transportation issues statewide, including chair of the Wisconsin Urban and Rural Transit Association for the past 2 years.”
Martin worked at Metro Transit as a transit operator from 1995 to 1996. She then took a position as the paratransit division supervisor for Union Cab in 1997 and became a project manager for Laidlaw Transit Services in 2000. In 2001, Martin returned to Metro Transit as the paratransit program manager.
In addition to serving as the executive committee chairperson of the Wisconsin Urban and Rural Transit Association (WURTA) from 2014 to present, she has also served as its legislative chairperson from 2012 to 2014.
