The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) presented Via Metropolitan Transit with an AdWheel award for the promotion of the 20th anniversary of VIA’s Youth Art Contest. The award was presented to Via Oct. 6, as part of the 2015 APTA Annual Meeting.
The AdWheel awards are presented by APTA to acknowledge the creative excellence of member public transportation systems and business members in advertising, communications, and marketing. Via’s promotion of the 20th Youth Art Contest was selected for the First Place Award in the category of Special Events.
“We are honored to be recognized on the national stage for a program that has been so warmly embraced on a local level,” said Via President/CEO Jeffrey C. Arndt. “The Youth Art Contest gives us the opportunity to engage with students from Pre-K through 12th grade and share with them the benefits of public transportation while also providing them an avenue for creative expression.”
