Loyal University of Tennessee football fans are taking the easy way to the game in record numbers. KAT’s football shuttle posted over 10,000 passenger trips for the game against Western Carolina, a 3-year record for game shuttle ridership. In the first two games of 2015, KAT has carried 1200 additional passengers over 2014, and over 4,200 additional passengers when compared with two years ago.
With shuttles from the Civic Coliseum garage, The Old City, Krutch Park and Farragut High School, KAT’s Football Shuttles offer either an opportunity to come and enjoy downtown before and after the game, or avoid the commute altogether by parking in Farragut. The most popular of the four shuttle locations continues to be the Civic Coliseum garage, followed by the Krutch Park location.
“It’s great to see UT fans enjoying downtown attractions along with an easy shuttle to the game,” says Dawn Distler, the city of Knoxville’s director of transit. “It’s a reliable, stress-free way to reach the game.”
Shuttles are $6 round-trip from the downtown locations and $16 round-trip from Farragut.
