CDTA To Hold Public Meetings On Saratoga County Restructuring
The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced Oct. 14, it will hold public meetings to gather feedback on the proposed route restructuring of its services in Saratoga County.
The proposed draft plan was created after a series of public meetings that were held earlier this year where riders, community stakeholders, and the public were given the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed changes. Once the draft plan is presented and all feedback is collected, CDTA will roll out the final plan in early 2016 with the restructured services to hit the streets in Spring/Summer.
CDTA is restructuring Saratoga County services to establish new routing that better aligns services to demand because where people live and work continues to shift. The new structure will be based on ridership data, planned developments, and most importantly, input from riders and residents. CDTA conducted a similar route restructuring back in 2007, leading to significant ridership increases across Saratoga County. Subsequent restructurings in Albany, Rensselaer and Schenectady Counties have resulted in record ridership for CDTA, and growth of its Universal Access program with area universities and businesses.
