Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority Selects New CEO
The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority’s (CCRTA) CEO Search Committee selects interim CEO Jorge Cruz-Aedo as permanent CEO.
“Jorge performed interim CEO duties in an outstanding manner. He kept the board abreast, responded to issues immediately, including unveiling and handling staff issues and impropriety in a quick professional manner,” said Vangie Chapa, board chair.
Cruz-Aedo has been the managing director of administration at the CCRTA since 2009 and brought the agency together after the resignation of Scott Neeley.
Under the leadership of Cruz-Aedo, the CCRTA has received the Uptown Neighborhood Initiative’s (UNI) Good Neighbor Award and the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitive Services (DARS) 2015 Business of the Year Award.
Cruz-Aedo has vast qualifications included in his 36 years of experience in private and public finance and administration. He has a strong financial background. He has served as the director of administration for the city of Houston and assistant city manager for the city of Corpus Christi, director of finance city of Corpus Christi, director of finance SMG for the American Bank Center, and the director of finance city of Temple.
Cruz-Aedo opened a facilities management operation in Corpus Christi for the larger international facilities management company. He has served as President of the Government Finance Officers Association for both the State of Texas and Arizona. He received his BBA with an emphasis on accounting in 1977 from Texas State University. He is also a U.S. Navy Veteran.
“We feel that Jorge Cruz-Aedo has the ability to lead the agency in the right direction and we are happy to be stepping into the future with him,” said Chapa.
