RTC’s Club Ride Recognizes Commuter-Friendly Businesses Across Las Vegas Valley
Recently the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada’s (RTC) Club Ride Commuter Services recognized local businesses that help promote the program’s mission to improve air quality. Club Ride hosted its annual networking event and Star Awards for Transportation Coordinators, or TCs, who work for public and private company partners in Clark County, to register new members for the Club Ride program and educate employees about commuting options.
The Star Awards winners for 2015 are:
• Rookie of the Year — Tied between Expert Global Solutions and C3/CustomerContactChannels
The “Rookie of the Year” award recognizes an employer partner that joined during the last 12 months and showed exceptional growth with a high participation rate from employees.
• Star Transportation Coordinator — Tena Lester, The Tropicana Las Vegas
The “Star Transportation Coordinator” award recognizes an individual TC for their ability to proactively plan commuter events, create marketing initiatives, celebrate winners and promote Club Ride consistently at their work site.
• Star Employer Partners — The Venetian | The Palazzo (Gaming) and SolarCity (Non-Gaming)
The “Star Employer Partners” award recognizes an employer partner who exhibits substantial growth in registrations, reporting and overall participation.
• Marketing Innovation — Excalibur
The “Innovation” award recognizes an employer partner with the most creative and effective internal marketing campaign.
• Honorable mentions were also given to Cancún Resort, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Arizona Charlie’s Boulder, ITT Tech — Henderson, Zappos, Diamond Resorts International, REI and City of Henderson.
The awards ceremony is a great opportunity to honor the efforts made by local businesses that ensure their employees are traveling to work using a green a commute. Club Ride continues to grow year after year, welcoming new commuters and employer partners who are all committed to improving the community and environment through the use of alternative modes of transportation.
On a national level, Club Ride received the 2015 Clean Air Excellence Award in the category of Community Action from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This national award recognizes innovative state, local and private sector programs that protect health and the environment, educate the public, serve their communities and boost the economy.
Club Ride is a free program of the RTC, designed to improve air quality through carpooling, vanpooling, riding transit, walking, bicycling, motorcycling, telecommuting, and compressed work weeks, such as working four 10-hour shifts. Club Ride works directly with more than 300 employers in the Las Vegas Valley to establish custom commute programs and offer incentives that encourage commuters to try new modes for getting to work.
