The Bis-Man Transit Board is seeking qualified applicants to fill a vacant position.
The Transit Board is an 11-person volunteer board serving the community with public transit, through the fixed-route Capital Area Transit (CAT) system, and the paratransit demand response. Combined, these two services provided more than 300,000 rides last year.
“The Transit Board has grown into a very important entity over the past 25 years, said Board President Marge Ellefson. “The transportation we provide is the backbone of the community, and we are excited about the direction the organization is moving. It is an extremely interesting, and important, time to be part of the Transit Board.”
Transit Board members come from diverse professional backgrounds and including service, commercial, financial, customer support, among other areas. That diverse skill set is what helps drive the success of the Board.

Interested individuals are also encouraged to attend the December 17 Transit Board meeting to help become familiar with the organization. The Board traditionally meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 11:30 a.m. at the Bismarck-Mandan Transit Center (3750 East Rosser Avenue in Bismarck). Due to the holidays in November and December, the meetings are often moved to the third Thursday of the month.
