Amongst the sea of white buses was parked an eye catching red and cream colored trolley, on display by Specialty Vehicles this week at the 23rd National Conference on Rural Public and Intercity Bus Transportation held in Breckenridge, Colorado.
The new Mini Trolley, manufactured by Advance Green in Goshen, Indiana, is a gas powered trolley with a smaller than normal trolley capacity of 14 passengers or less. This unit was perfectly designed for transit and tour operators who want to employ non-CDL drivers.
“The rural conference held in a beautiful mountain location provided a unique opportunity to display or new non CDL mini Trolley bus,” commented Mark McGregor, sales representative for Specialty Vehicles, who attended the show. “It is the ideal ADA equipped vehicle to add an American historic image to rural fleets, enhancing customer utilization in even the smallest of communities.”
The Mini Trolley is available in a transit model with ADA, fare boxes and destination signs or in a tour model with upgraded seat cushions and sliding windows. The Mini Trolley can also be built to specialize in wedding charters, with an all-white Mini Trolley fully equipped with a rear conductor’s platform, removable side windows with roll down rain curtains, all brass interior stanchions and grab rails, leather straps, a bar and an icebox.
During the three-day conference, attendees from cities, municipalities and transit agencies all over the United States had a chance to tour the exhibited vehicles onsite. “This National Conference has been one of the best tradeshows we have attended in the past 5 years,” said Nancy Munoz, CEO of Specialty Vehicles, who attended the show alongside McGregor and spoke with several of the attendees interested in the trolley. “There seemed to be a substantial amount of customers with real transportation needs and requirements.”
“Participants in the conference were thrilled with this historic trolley bus, and we expect to see the Mini Trolley to be added to the wish list of many of the rural systems in attendance.” McGregor added.
