First Transit to provide fixed-route and paratransit operations to city of Visalia
First Transit has been awarded a contract with the city of Visalia, Calif., for all fixed-route and paratransit operations.
First Transit will provide day-to-day operations and oversight for 87 vehicles, employing 130. First Transit is also responsible for all maintenance of the fleet, plus three new battery-powered all-electric buses.
“We’re proud to become a part of the community,” said Fadi Chakbazof, senior vice president for the west region of First Transit. “We look forward to providing a vital service to the citizens of Visalia getting them to and from work and other activities.”
In addition to regular operations, First Transit will support express V-LINE service to Fresno, California, and seasonal shuttle service to Sequoia National Park.
