AVTA Launches New Website with a Focus on Customer Experience
The Antelope Valley Transit Authority launched a new website this week, an update of www.AVTA.com, with a bright new look and a focus on making it easier for passengers to get the information they need. The new AVTA website features a clean, user-friendly design that will allow riders to quickly access route and fare information from either their desktop computer or mobile device.
“This new website will make it easier for passengers to find their route, plan their trip, and get to their destinations,” said AVTA Chairman Marvin Crist. “As our routes continue to grow, this will give riders the tools they need to make their trip planning a positive experience.”
In designing the new site, AVTA identified and incorporated key components based on customer feedback and industry trends, creating a site that reflects the agency's mission to provide outstanding customer service and to showcase its commitment to sustainability in all of its operations.
A key feature of the redesigned website is the Trip Planner, powered by Google. Riders can enter their starting point and their destination and the planner will provide them with the bus and route they should take to make the trip. The Bus Locator button on the Home Page helps passengers easily track their bus via GPS, letting them know exactly where it is and when it will arrive. Also on the Home Page are Rider Alerts, real-time bulletins with up-to-the minute information on detours, delays and stop closures. Many will benefit from the 'How Do I?' feature, which provides answers to such frequently asked questions as how to ride the bus with a bicycle, how to get a TAP Card, or how to purchase a bus pass.
The website also puts a new emphasis on the Procurement page. This will help local businesses who would like to do business with AVTA navigate the bidding process for agency contracts. The website also features valuable information for businesses to become certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).
“We are committed to expanding opportunities for local Antelope Valley businesses to successfully compete for contracts, and that is why enhancing the ability to find this information is so important,” said Macy Neshati, AVTA executive director.
