Denton County Transportation Authority Wins Multiple 2018 Marketing and Transit Industry Awards

The Denton County Transportation Authority was awarded a total of 26 industry and marketing awards this year from international, national and regional competitions.

The Denton County Transportation Authority was awarded a total of 26 industry and marketing awards this year from international, national and regional competitions – including top honors from Ragan Communications national award programs, Stevie Awards, American Public Transportation Association, Southwest Transit Association, Public Relations Society of America and American Marketing Association local chapters, as well as the Marcom and Hermes Creative Awards international programs. 

“We strive to develop and implement compelling marketing and communications campaigns and initiatives to best tell the DCTA story, engage with passengers and encourage ridership,” said Nicole Recker, DCTA vice president of marketing and communications. “It’s an honor to be recognized for the great marketing and communications initiatives DCTA has implemented this year.”

Ragan Communications PR Daily’s Content Marketing Awards (awarded in December 2018)

Ragan Communications PR Daily’s Content Marketing Awards is competitive, national competition honoring outstanding content strategy, development and implementation from many companies in the U.S. for digital and social media work. DCTA received an Honorable Mention award for the State Fair of Texas influencer marketing campaign.

PRSA Fort Worth Worthy Awards (awarded in November 2018)

Established in 2012 by the Greater Fort Worth Chapter of PRSA, the Worthy Awards showcase exemplary programs and tactics created by public relations professionals in the Greater Fort Worth area.

 DCTA received an Award of Achievement for the “Case for Transit” study editorial feature secured in Community Impact newspaper.

Marcom Awards (awarded in October 2018)

The Marcom Awards – an international awards competition administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) – recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals.

DCTA received awards for the following campaigns and initiatives:

  • Gold Award for our State Fair of Texas marketing campaign
  • Gold Award for the “Case for Transit” study Community Impact editorial feature
  • Honorable Mention for the State Fair of Texas influencer marketing campaign

PRSA Dallas Pegasus Awards (awarded in October 2018)

This annual competition recognizes the most outstanding public relations and strategic communications efforts in the Dallas area and provides a constructive critique by an independent panel of judges for each entry. Members, non-members and students are invited to submit entries.

DCTA received an Award of Honor for the State Fair of Texas influencer marketing campaign.

dotCOMM Awards (awarded in July 2018)

The dotCOMM Awards – administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) – is one of the largest, oldest and most respected evaluators of creative work in the marketing and communication industry. DCTA received awards for the following campaigns and initiatives:

  • Gold Award for the A-train vs. I-35E campaign
  • Gold Award for the #AskDCTA content series
  • Honorable Mention for the State Fair of Texas influencer marketing campaign

SWTA Spotlight Awards (awarded in July 2018)

The Southwest Transit Association (SWTA) Spotlight Awards program is the oldest transit marketing and advertising award given in the United States and is awarded for excellence in a total transit marketing campaign with a “biggest-bang-for-the-buck” emphasis.

DCTA competed with transit agencies in eight southwestern states, including Texas, Arizona and Colorado, for the SWTA Marketing Spotlight Awards. The agency received awards for the following campaigns and initiatives:

  • Hit the Spot Award for the #WhyIRideDCTA revamp campaign
  • Hit the Spot Award for the Summer Sales direct mail campaign
  • Hit the Spot Award for the #IAmDCTA video

Videographer Awards (awarded in July 2018)

The Videographer Awards – administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) – is one of the oldest and most respected awards programs in the industry honoring excellent video work and projects. DCTA received a Distinction Award for the A-train vs. I-35E video.

Ragan Communications’ PR Daily Awards is competitive, national competition honoring outstanding work from many companies in the U.S. for digital and social media work. DCTA received an Honorable Mention award for the State Fair of Texas influencer marketing campaign.

Stevie Awards – American Business Awards (awarded in May 2018)

The Stevie® Awards are the world's premier business awards. They were created in 2002 to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide. The American Business Awards – one of the Stevie Award programs – are the premier business awards program in the U.S.A. open to all organizations operating in the U.S.A. and feature a wide variety of categories to recognize achievement in every facet of the workplace.

DCTA received a Gold Award for the State Fair of Texas marketing campaign.

Hermes Creative Awards (awarded in April 2018)

The Hermes Creative Awards – an international awards competition administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) – recognizes outstanding work in the industry while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communication professionals.

DCTA received awards for the following campaigns and initiatives:

  • Platinum Award for the North Texas Xpress campaign
  • Gold Awards for the Bike Everywhere Challenge
  • Honorable Mention for the A-train vs. I-35E campaign

DFW American Marketing Association Marketer of the Year Awards (awarded in February 2018)

The mission of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the AMA is to educate, support and enhance the performance of its members and marketing professionals in the DFW Metroplex. The Marketer of the Year Awards recognize excellence in marketing and innovation in various categories. DCTA received an award for the Summer Sales direct mailer.

APTA AdWheel Marketing Awards (awarded in February 2018)

The American Public Transit Association (APTA) AdWheel Awards program recognize the marketing and communications efforts of APTA’s members across the country. Additionally, the annual awards competition creates a structure to share best practices and to raise the awareness of the value of public transportation marketing professionals within the industry.

AVA Digital Awards Winner (awarded in January 2018)
