DART amends access agreement with STAR Transit
The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) board members approved an amended one-year bus access agreement with STAR Transit starting Oct. 1.
The amendment changes the original May 2017 agreement with STAR Transit which was for access to three properties: Camp Wisdom Station, Glenn Heights Park & Ride and UNT Dallas Station. That agreement helped provide fixed-route and demand responsive service to parts of the growing Inland Port area in Dallas. The new agreement grants STAR Transit access to four new locations: Lawnview Station, Buckner Station, Downtown Rowlett Station and Lake Ray Hubbard Transit Center.
With the approval, DART continues to be proactive in allowing entities to operate bus service from outside the service area to its facilities. The agency currently has similar agreements with Denton County Transportation Authority, Hunt County Senior Center Resources and Public Transportation, and SPAN from Denton County.
STAR Transit is a public bus transportation service, offering bus transportation in Kaufman County, Rockwall County, Mesquite, Balch Springs, Seagoville, Hutchins and DeSoto.
