Transit districts will receive more than $28.5 million in funds approved by the Oregon Transportation Commission to support bus service, maintain and purchase vehicles and build bus charging stations. The more than $28.5 million in funds awarded comes from the Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund’s Discretionary Program.
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) received 75 applications requesting $35.5 million.
In making its recommendations to the commission, the Public Transportation Advisory Committee considered input from transit districts, public transportation key audiences, Area Commissions on Transportation and others.
