New look for TARTA vehicles on University of Toledo's campus
The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) upgraded its Rocket Lift vehicles used on the University of Toledo’s (UT) campus.
Old school buses used to move students, faculty and staff around UT’s campus have been replaced with branded, 29-foot TARTA vehicles. Those with a valid University of Toledo ID may use the buses free-of-charge when traveling throughout campus and can also connect to free fixed-route service throughout TARTA’s entire network.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with the University of Toledo and for the opportunity to elevate the brand of Rocket Lift service to match the momentum underway on campus,” said TARTA Deputy CEO Laura Koprowski. “This is just another example of TARTA’s transformation to provide a better customer experience while providing greater value to the community.”
The service makes stops at several locations on or around campus, including the Lancelot Thompson Student Union, the Center for the Performing Arts, Driscoll Alumni Center, Gateway Plaza, Rocket Hall, the Toledo Museum of Art and the UT Transit Center.
Rocket Lift also includes on-campus paratransit services via TARPS for students, faculty and staff with a qualifying disability.
TARTA is in the third year of a 10-year partnership with the University of Toledo to provide free transportation for the next generation of industry leaders.
