The price tag for Honolulu’s troubled rail project has gone up again, according to a new report.
Jacobs Engineering Group, a federal consultant, estimates the rail project will cost $8.3 billion. That’s up from the most recent estimate of $8.2 billion.
Damien Kim, board chair of the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation, said this is welcome news as HART has “gained control of the project costs.”
