AC Propulsion Vice President of Research Dave Sivertsen to Speak at Institute of Electrical and Electronics Enginners Los Angeles Metro Chapter Meeting
AC Propulsion, a global leader in electric drive design, development and manufacturing, announces that vice president of Research Dave Sivertsen, will be the featured guest speaker for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) meeting on Sept. 6, 2011. In a talk titled "Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Power Grids; AC Propulsion's Vehicle to Grid (V2G) Experience," Sivertsen will share details of the successful eBox program AC Propulsion has pioneered to support not only electric vehicle development, but also power grid support management with V2G technology.
The upcoming meeting will be held at the Luminarias Restaurant in Monterey Park, Calif., from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. "Smart grid technology is a vital element to ensuring that EVs can be supported within the growing electric automotive marketplace," said Sivertsen. "AC Propulsion's V2G program is in testing with our partners at the University of Delaware and the Technical University of Denmark and showing excellent results. With an increasing demand on the power grid to support more EVs on the road, V2G technology is a necessary and exciting development for the EV world."
Sivertsen will talk in depth about AC Propulsion's continued contributions to the global EV marketplace and the company's plans for the future. Specifically, Sivertsen will highlight AC Propulsion's work in V2G power management, a system that allows EVs plugged into the power grid for charging to host a reciprocal relationship to support the grid internally at the same time. With growing demand for EVs, AC Propulsion recently announced a flagship program currently testing V2G integration in Europe.
