Wolfgang Winzer to lead MCI Aftermarket Business
Motor Coach Industries (MCI) announced that Wolfgang Winzer has joined the company as vice president and general manager, Aftermarket Business. In this new position, Winzer will lead MCI Service Parts, MCI Service Centers and in-field technical support. He will be based at MCI’s Louisville, Ky., facility and reports directly to Rick Heller, MCI CEO.
“Wolfgang’s accomplishments in leadership roles at similar businesses serving transportation and automotive will help us provide our customers with the most reliable service and support in the industry,” said Rick Heller. “He is a leader with global experience and a track record for identifying opportunities and driving growth. Even as our parts fulfillment rates are back to ranking as the industry’s highest, we plan on tapping Wolfgang’s expertise to lead our aftermarket business into our next phase of improvement and expansion.”
Winzer joins MCI after serving as president of Champion Laboratories, Inc., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of filters, filtration products and related services to the automotive, retail, fleet, heavy-duty and petroleum dispensing industries. He was also president of Webb Wheel Products, which manufactures hubs, brake drums and rotors for medium-and heavy-duty trucks, trailers and buses. Prior to that, Winzer’s career included executive positions with Siemens VDO Automotive, where he started in international sales and rose to become vice president and general manager.
Recently, MCI made a $10 million investment in parts inventory, stocking more than 100,000 parts at its 360,000-square-foot facility in Louisville; it also launched its Coach Critical parts program that guarantees 1,500 parts deemed most essential for uptime will be shipped by the next business day. MCI also operates seven Service Centers in the United States and Canada; and supports its coaches with technical experts working in the field.
MCI’s Louisville facility also houses MCI’s ERSA (emergency roadside assistance) team and the MCI Technical Training Institute. MCI offers Technical Tune-Up Sessions free to operators of MCI coaches quarterly. To learn more, visit www.mcicoach.com/training.
