CA: Parsons Appoints Adams as Global Operations Director of Transportation Group
Parsons announces the appointment of Garold “Gary” Adams as global operations director of Parsons Transportation Group, Inc. (PTG), effective immediately. In this newly created position, Adams will oversee operations of PTG’s four divisions and companywide support services.
Adams joined Parsons in 1991 and has held a succession of positions with increasing responsibilities, including manager of PTG’s Transportation Operations sector, manager of the road and highway division’s western U.S. sector, manager for PTG’s southern California operations, and office manager for a former Parsons subsidiary. His most recent position was executive vice president and global business development manager for PTG. Prior to that, he was senior vice president and manager of the road and highway division.
“With more than 30 years of industry-leading experience and having directed our largest division operations, Gary is well suited for his new role,” Todd Wager, Parsons group president said.
Adams holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a master’s degree in transportation engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a registered professional engineer in several states and the District of Columbia.
He is a fellow in both the American Society of Engineers and the Institute of Transportation Engineers. He is also a former part-time lecturer at both California State University, Long Beach, and California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in transportation planning, traffic engineering, and highway design.
Adams has a long history of involvement in community and government service. He has held positions in city government and has sat on the boards of several county agencies. He is based in Parsons’ Washington, D.C., office.
