The Louis Berger Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that Steve Glenn joins the firm as the new vice president of disaster and emergency management. Glenn, based in Raleigh, N.C., will oversee the firm’s existing multidisciplinary disaster management services. With more than 24 years of experience, he will support the growth of LBG’s disaster preparedness, emergency response and post disaster recovery services.
“Steve brings a holistic approach to emergency services, influenced by his FEMA, state government and private consulting experience,” said Tom Lewis, U.S. Operations group vice president. “He will be a valuable asset to LBG’s ongoing disaster preparedness, response and recovery operations in areas affected by Superstorm Sandy in New York City and New Jersey.”
LBG’s disaster management practice has played key roles in other emergency efforts, including Hurricanes Katrina, Irene and Ike as well as international recovery efforts in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. In addition to planning for preparedness, LBG’s emergency response services include emergency power, debris management, grant management, coastal beach engineering and long term holistic recovery support services.
Glenn has helped clients in the federal, state, local and private sectors. He previously headed a nationwide emergency management practice for Atkins North America, serving clients in the areas of operational readiness, personnel deployment and technical support for federal programs. While with Atkins, Glenn led public assistance and debris monitoring services in Virginia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina. Previously, he was infrastructure branch chief in Atlanta, Ga. for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). He also led recovery operations at the North Carolina Emergency Management Agency and has extensive field experience in training, coordinating and risk analysis.
