Greater Dayton RTA announced the selection of John Seber as the new chief maintenance officer for the regional authority.

Greater Dayton RTA announced the selection of John Seber as the new chief maintenance officer for the regional authority. The newly filled position came after a long and arduous search to seek the replacement for retired chief John Thomas.

With over 25 years of experience of maintenance management, Seber comes to RTA after serving most recently as vice president of maintenance, central region for MV Transportation overseeing operations of 7,000 vehicles covering 24 states.

“We are very fortunate to have a professional of John's caliber joining the RTA Team”, said Mark Donaghy, executive director of RTA. “His extensive knowledge in transit maintenance will support our strategic vision to improve service reliability and the overall customer experience.”
In this role, Seber will oversee one of RTA’s most ambitious projects, the dual mode bus build and rollout, scheduled for 2014. He’ll also be responsible for Maintenance facilities improvements and the integration of the diesel and electric shops.

Seber, chief maintenance officer of RTA, said he wants customers and stakeholders alike, to know his main goal is to ensure that RTA drivers and passengers receive safe, clean and reliable vehicles.

“I look forward to promoting a positive public transportation image for the communities we serve at RTA," Seber said.
