MA: VHB’s John Kennedy Elected International Vice President of Institute of Transportation Engineers

John Kennedy, a senior principal and one of VHB’s co-founders, was elected as the 2014 international vice president of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).

John Kennedy, a senior principal and one of VHB’s co-founders, was elected as the 2014 international vice president of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). He will officially accepted this role, which will take effect on Jan. 1.

As international vice president, Kennedy will work to establishes policies for the operation of ITE. He has more than 38 years of active membership in ITE, ranging from elected leadership positions at the chapter, section, district and international levels; committee work; publication review; and service on the coordinating council. 

“John has provided service and leadership to his profession for many years,” said VHB President and CEO Bob Brustlin. “We are proud of John’s accomplishments and honored to have him serve in this leadership role for the Institute.” This year, Kennedy helped to coordinate ITE’s Annual Meeting in Boston. VHB demonstrated its commitment to the organization and support of John’s unwavering dedication to the organization by sponsoring and exhibiting at the conference in early August.

At VHB, Kennedy works on large-scale, high-profile projects, with multiple contract assignments. He helped keep traffic moving throughout Boston’s Big Dig and also played an integral role in Massachusetts’ first design-build project, conducted a peer review for a four million square foot transit oriented development, and provided traffic management strategies for MassDOT’s Fast14 project.
